Tree Pests Invade Lethbridge

LETHBRIDGE:  A number of tree pest species have been spotted in Lethbridge this year including forest tent caterpillars , cankerworms, leaf rollers and aphids.

To prevent damage, the city is encouraging residents to check their trees for these pests in the mornings and evenings when temperatures are cooler and insects are less active.

There is more insect activity right now because the cool wet spring delayed growth stages.

If you see these tree pests, all you have to do is sweep them off or hit them with a strong blast of water from the hose. It's usually not necessary to use any chemical controls on them.
