Lethbridge: Charges have been laid against four males in relation to a couple street robberies that happened in the city earlier this month.
On June 15th, three-youth (aged 13, 15 and 17) were walking along a green strip in the 1600-block of 23rd Street North just before mid night. They were confronted by four males who demanded the boys property. The thieves got away with electronics and wallets which included bank cards and I-D's, as well as food items. A short while later near 6th avenue and 5rh street south, the same four suspects allegedly stole liquor from a 34-year old woman walking in the area.
On Thursday, Regional Police arrested two 17-year teens who can't be identified. One was remanded in custody to appear in court June 29th. The other was released on a recognizance to also appear in court on June 29th.
Police also arrested 18-year old John Dwayne Kalmakoff, who was remanded in custody and 24-year old James Dean Shay, who was released on a recognizance.
Kalmakoff will be in court June 27th while Shay appears on June 29th.
All four accused have been charged with four-counts of robbery and one count of extortion.
