LETHBRIDGE: Polls for the provincial Tory leadership open in just over a month.
To try and boost support leading up to voting, Doug Horner stopped in Lethbridge Tuesday.
He explained that he wants to focus on increasing trade with partners in places like Asia and South America. He also noted that post secondary education in the province needs a boost, in order to attract more students to Alberta.
Horner also stated that in order to handle the economic issues globally, Alberta needs to become less dependant on the United States. With that in mind he explained that development of bio-fuels would allow us to become more self sufficient, and that Lethbridge would be a major part of that growth.
Changing gears, Horner went on to say that compassion needs to be a bigger part of the Tory government. He commented that children of all races and backgrounds need to have the same opportunities and advantages.
Horner will be back in our city August 25th for an all candidates forum at the Lethbridge Lodge.
