LETHBRIDGE: Canadian company Enbridge has announced it will invest $300 million in taking over the Montana-Alberta Tie-Line, known as MATL. In a press release issued Tuesday, Enbridge outlined details of how the company will take over from Tonbridge, the company currently in charge of the line. Part of the takeover bid includes paying off roughly $50 million worth of debt incurred by the project so far. The line has been embattled with controversy over time, with many farmers fighting Tonbridge in court, refusing to give them right of way on their property. MATL is a 345-kilometre transmission line from Great Falls, Montana to Lethbridge.
