Police College Build Officially Begins

SOUTHERN ALBERTA: Fort MacLeod has announced the official sod-turning for the new police college will go this Monday, August 22. The ceremony is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the training centre building site, which is two kilometres south of the Auction Market on Highway 2 South heading to Cardston.

Infrastructure Minister Ray Danyluk and Solicitor General Frank Oberle will be there - as will town mayor Shawn Patience, one of the loudest voices involved with championing the cause after officials took several years to make good on their promise to build the centre. "With every step I breathe a little easier," said Patience. "I want to see the ground moving and I think then it will all become real."
