Mexican Murder Suspect Appears in Lethbridge

LETHBRIDGE: The case of a Mexican man accused of second degree murder in Shaughnessy was held over in Lethbridge court Thursday morning. Luis Alfonso Ochoa-Gamez, 29, was extradited back to Canada from the U.S. this week, and will stay in custody until his next court date on Tuesday, August 26. He will be provided with a Spanish interpreter during all court proceedings. The trial comes after another Mexican man, 24-year-old Mauro Hernandez-Renteria was found dead at a house October 13th. Police say he was shot over a drug dispute.
