Lethbridge Senior Centre Gets $113,000 Grant

LETHBRIDGE: Nordbridge Senior Centre is getting a $113,000 boost from the province. Minister of Culture and Community Spirit Lindsay Blackett stopped in Lethbridge Tuesday for the announcement. Blackett says the money, which is earmarked for upgrades in the kitchen, washrooms, signage, exercise equipment and the fitness centre, will go a long way in making a good facility even better.

"I've been to many of them around the province and this is one of the best," said Blackett. "You've got great meeting space, you've got multi-purpose rooms, you've got Alberta senior support right here in the building, you've got lots of activities here - just some great programming." The money came as a matching grant, meaning Nordbridge raised $109,000 so they could receive the support.
