Pilot And Passengers Survive Helicopter Crash In Crowsnest Pass
BLAIRMORE: A helicopter crash in the Crowsnest Pass Friday morning caused extensive damage
to the aircraft but, the pilot and four passengers suffered only minor injuries.
The incident happened 70-kilometres north of Coleman at the The Gap forestry
fire base along Highway-40. The chopper owned by Mustang helicopters of
Blackfalds, was transporting forestry workers when it developed mechanical
failure during a planned landing.
The pilot managed to control the craft but over-shot the landing pad and the
chopper came down on its right side in a field east of the highway.
The pilot and passengers were take to Crowsnest Hospital as a precaution but
were able to be treated and released.
The Transportation Safety Board and Occupational Health and Safety expect
