Hearing For Accused War Criminal

LETHBRIDGE: Confidential witnesses say they saw an accused Guatemalan war criminal kill villagers with a sledgehammer and throw bodies down a well.

Jorge Vincio Orantes Sosa has been in custody since his Lethbridge arrest in January of this year. He holds both U.S. and Canadian citizenship and now faces extradition to the U.S. for allegedly lying about having committed a crime or being part of the military when he applied for citizenship.

The 53-year-old is wanted by Guatemalan authorities for his alleged involvement in attacks on a village where more than 200 men, women and children were massacred in 1982.
