Lethbridge Connection With Armed Robbery Suspects

LETHBRIDGE - Two men wanted in Alberta on a Canada-wide warrant for armed robbery are now in custody.

Ian Michael Butz and Jason Avery Butz were arrested by members of the Creston RCMP on Sunday.

They were wanted for using a shotgun during robberies at two Alberta gas stations near Peace River last week.

Police believe 22 and 26 year old sisters from Lethbridge were involved in the robberies and they were picked up at a border crossing between BC and Idaho on Friday when they were found to be driving a vehicle associated with the robberies.

Police think the women dropped the brothers off near the border before attempting to cross.

They remain in custody and are facing charges.
