Alberta PC's Vote For A New Leader

LETHBRIDGE:   We could know by Saturday night, who will replace Ed Stelmach as leader of the provincial  Conservative Party and become the next premier.

The first advance poll in the leadership vote was held in most constituencies on September 13th.  The first election day on Saturday begins at 9-am and continues until 7-pm at various locations around the province.  If there's no clear winner on Saturday, the three candidates who receive the most votes in the first advance poll and on the first election day, will advance to the second round of voting.

The second advance poll will be held on September 27th, with the second election day taking place October 1st.

To vote for the PC leader, you must be a Canadian Citizen, age 16 or older, have lived in Alberta for the six-months prior to the Leadership election and you must be a member in good standing of a Provincial Progressive Conservative Constituency Association.   You can purchase a membership at a polling station, right up until the closing of polling at 7-pm.  You will need to provide two pieces of identification.

There are about 188 polling stations across the province with at lest one polling station in each of the 83 constituencies. You can find your Constituency and a polling location athttp://www.albertapc.ab.ca
