LETHBRIDGE: Regional Police started their Thursday morning with a couple of
eyebrow-raising impaired driving incidents. Both happened just after mid-night,
in two separate locations in the city.
The first incident happened in the 1600-block of 8th avenue south. A man
driving a van lost control and struck two-vehicles, a yield sign and then the
curb before coming to rest on a home's front lawn. John Paul Bester, 33, of
Lethbridge, is charged with impaired driving, driver over .08 and dangerous
driving. He's scheduled for court on October 17th.
A short time after the first incident, at a fast food drive-thru in the
500-block of University Drive, a vehicle waiting in line was rear-ended by another vehicle driven by a 46-year old city man. When police arrived, they
noted the offending driver appeared to be impaired. Kevin Douglas Collins will
be in court October 11th to answer charges of impaired driving, driving over .08
and dangerous driving.
Then, at about 1:25, Coaldale homeowners were rudely awakened in an
incident that lead to an easy arrest. Residents of a home in the 1700-block of
20th street were awakened by a man yelling and knocking on their front door. The
suspect then broke the glass in the door.
When police arrived, they found the offender sitting on the living room
couch. 21-year old Marc Eugene Ouellette of Coaldale, is charged with house
breaking and mischief.
