Catholic School Board Makes Money Decision

LETHBRIDGE: Following on the heels of the Public School District 51's decision, the Holy Spirit Catholic School Division has decided how it will spend $667,000 in new government grant money. The trustee board voted Wednesday night to use the funds to hire five and a half full-time equivalent teaching positions, to hire one and a half full-time equivalent educational assistant positions and one full time equivalent First Nations, Métis and Inuit support worker position. The board noted the funding, which was announced by the Alberta PCs shortly after Alison Redford was named premier, still left the board with a deficit budget of $600,000.
