Regional Police Make Robbery Arrest

LETHBRIDGE - A man is facing several charges after two robbery attempts overnight on Friday.

The first was around 11pm, when a man entered a parking lot in the 800 block of 20th Street North and displayed a knife to a woman who had just got out of her car, attempting to steal her car keys.  When she refused the man took off.

A couple hours later, someone requested a taxi to the 1800 block of 18th Street North.  The suspect then rode to 9th Avenue South where he produced a knife again and threatened the taxi driver who then fled the cab.  The suspect drove off in the taxi and it was later found abandoned and missing cash and electronics.

22-year-old Kenneth Allen of Lethbridge has been charged with two counts of robbery and several other offenses.
