LETHBRIDGE: The fraud case against three Lethbridge residents can finally get back on track, now that a dispute over their council has been resolved.
Marisa Campanelli-Pittarelli, Anthony Pittarelli and Claudia Pittarelli all hired Balfour Der out of Calgary to represent them, something the Crown felt could cause problems down the road.
In court Der explained that all three went to separate lawyers for their opinion on the matter, stating that in each case the lawyers reported back to him that they didn't see any problem with Der representing the three.
Der did add that his clients understand that should a conflict come up in the future, he would have to withdraw entirely from the case for all three.
The trio was charged back in June in connection with an alleged ponzi scheme centred around Front Row Tickets. They each face charges including theft over $5,000, fraud, money laundering and possession of proceeds of crime. They're accused of defrauding investors out of more than $560,000.
The case returns to court February 1st.
