Local Police Investigate Possible Hate Crime

LETHBRIDGE: Regional police have announced they're investigating a potential hate crime in the city. They say they opened the investigation after a 30-year-old man was injured outside a downtown nightclub early Sunday morning. The man told police he got in a fight and suffered non-life-threatening injuries. A spokesperson said the investigation is ongoing to find out the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The police announcement comes in the wake of a blog post that went public online Monday, where a Lethbridge resident says he was beaten after telling someone he's gay.
