Union workers wage increase

Lethbridge city council gave its final stamp on a round of raises for municipal employees. They approved a total six per cent wage increase for union employees from 2012 to 2014. The raise impacts more than 700 city workers, but council says it will not affect its previously-approved budget.

New changes to old Red Cross building

Some changes likely on the way for the old Red Cross building on 7th Avenue South. Alvin Fritz Architects wants to convert it from office space into condominium units. City council gave the changes first-round approval on Monday and will make a final decision on the zoning changes after a public hearing set for Monday, January 30th.
