LETHBRIDGE: AN investigation into drug couriering activity in southern Alberta ha
resulted in charges against two Lethbridge residents.
Earlier this month, ALERT’s Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit
(CFSEU-Lethbridge) began investigating a group that was believed to be
transporting drugs between Calgary and Lethbridge.
On March 12th, with assistance from members of the LRPS Community Policing
Division, the team stopped a vehicle as it entered the city limits.
A search resulted in the seizure of nearly 370 grams of crack cocaine and
65 grams of powder cocaine, with a total estimated street value of about
$54,000. The majority of the crack cocaine was packaged in 16 individual plastic
bags.
A 42-year old man from Lethbridge, Roger Stanley KRUSHELL, is charged with
possession for the purpose of trafficking and three counts of failure to comply
with a recognizance. The accused was out on bail for similar charges originating
in Okotoks.
Also charged is 19-yeAr old Kaley Lynn PAVAN, of Lethbridge, who faces possession for the
purpose of trafficking.
Both were remanded and made their first court appearance on Thursday, March 14th.
