LETHBRIDGE - Administrative cost cutting is underway at Alberta Health, with expenses
chopped by at least 10 per cent. It's expected that will translate into a
$35-million reduction over 3-years.
At a meeting in Lethbridge on Thursday morning, it was also announced that
a three-year compensation freeze for all management, out-of-scope employees and
physician leaders will impact about 10,000 staff. There's also a hiring freeze
on all administrative positions. Any hiring will be focused on clinical care.
AHS is also reviewing the size, function and titles of its senior leadership
team.
These are initial administrative cost savings only and a full budget will be
approved by the Board at a special meeting in early April. Posted on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at 5/21/2013 2:46:51 PM
