Short Court Appearance For Murder Suspects

 
 

LETHBRIDGE - There was a short appearance in court on Tuesday morning by a couple men accused of stabbing 58-year-old George Span to death in mid January.

 

37-year-old Michael Mitchell and 21-year-old Addison Wakefield are each charged with second degree murder. Spans body was found on January 14th at his northside home in the 200 block of Stafford Bay North.

 

A lawyer speaking on behalf of the accused said they would be willing to waive a preliminary hearing and go straight to trial.

 

The case was adjourned to April 17th.
