Frank Slide Interpretive Centre Commemorates 110th Anniversary Of Disaster
Crowsnest Pass: Monday, April 29th will mark the 110th anniversary of Frank Slide, a massive rock slide that killed about 90 people in the community of Frank.
Frank Slide Interpretive Centre, along with the Crowsnest Historical
Society and Crowsnest Heritage Initiative, will commemorate the anniversary with
a ceremony at the grave site along old Frank Road.
A reception will follow
at the Interpretive Centre at 12:30 PM and later a presentation of the Turtle
Mountain Monitoring project will be offered, again at the centre, starting a
A historical photo exhibit on the town of Frank and the Frank slide will be
on display at the centre. As well, audio-visual presentations recounting
Canada's deadliest rock slide and its aftermath will run throughout the day.
All of the events are open to the public and free admission will be
offered at the Frank Slide Interpretive Centre all day.
