Lethbridge Records Positive Construction Picture Despite Slight Drop In April
LETHBRIDGE: The month of April saw a drop in new home starts in the city when compared to
April of last year. However, year-to-date figures are more positive.
There was a combined 45 single and multiple home starts last month, compared
to 57 in April of 2012.
Those numbers may be just a blip on the radar. Year-to-date, new home starts
(combined single and multiple family) in Lethbridge number 191, which is ahead
of last year's total of 151 for the same 4-month period.
Across the province, Calgary is the only one of the six cities (Calgary,
Edmonton, Grande Prairie, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat and Red Deer) to record a
year-to-date drop in residential building.
