Lethbridge College Announces Gifts While Publicly Launching Fundraising Campaign
LETHBRIDGE - A number of significant gifts were announced for Lethbridge College on
They included $100,000 from C.E.M Heavy Equipment to support
the colleges Trades and Technology Renewal and Innovation project, $500,000 from
the Metis Education Foundation for Metis student awards, and $1-million from
five local philanthropic families. "The Power of 5" gift came from Ken and Lorna
Bateman, Randy and Louise Dunlop, Anna "Jean" and Cale Harris, Randy and Cheryl
Jespersen, and Glen and Janice Varzari. The million dollar gift was made
possible with a match from an anonymous donor who is now deceased.
Possibilities are Endless" campaign has already raised $13.3-million of is
private sector goal of $25-million. The college will now move into the active,
public phase of its fundraising effort. This is the most ambitious fundraising
campaign in the 57 year history of Lethbridge College. Targeted areas that will benefit from the fundraising are the trades facility,
the library project, Kodiak House, student awards, and emerging priorities.
