Extendicare Staff Rally Over Delays In Bargaining Process

LETHBRIDGE - A rally outside the Extendicare Fairmont Park location on Thursday was designed to draw attention to ongoing delays in bargaining between AUPE members and Extendicare.

AUPE Vice President Glen Scott says they've been negotiating since the beginning of the year and Extendicare has been trying to stall the process.

He says their latest offer was actually a lesser contract than they had in the previous years. Scott adds its not a good situation and is hurting moral and causing a distraction.

They're going back to third party mediation and Scott says they're hopeful to come to an agreement.
