LETHBRIDGE: An attempted murder charge against a Fort Macleod youth has been amended to assault with a weapon.

The boy was 13 at the time of the incident on March 10th of 2012, and is accused of attacking a 17 year old before setting fire to a home.

The 17-year old suffered life-threatening injuries to his head and neck. There were also four other people in the home when the fire was started, but no one else was injured.

The accused is back in court June 12th, at which point it's anticipated the case will be resolved. In addition to assault with a weapon, the youth also still faces a charge of arson.
