Police Advising RV Owners To Take Precautions Against Battery Theft

LETHBRIDGE - Regional Police have noticed a trend involving the theft of RV batteries.

There have been numerous cases over the past few months, but the theft of RV batteries is an ongoing issue and occurs year-round.

In many cases, suspects cut the nylon straps and remove the fasteners that secure the batteries in place. Police encourage the use of commercially available locking clamps or similar devices to reduce the risk of theft.

They also recommend parking the RV in a secure, well lit area and check on them periodically.
