COALHURST: There is now an explanation for the report of a possible abduction attempt in
Coalhurst on Monday, May 27th.
Around 8:30 that morning, an unknown man invited a young girl to come to his
vehicle but, drove away when a family member intervened.
After further investigation into the matter, a man showed up at the RCMP
Lethbridge Office in order to clear up the allegations. Apparently, the man was
actually known to the family and the matter was straightened out with the
parents of the child. No criminal intent was present and this was clearly a
However, Police remind all parents to be vigilant for unknown or suspicious
persons in their community and to report suspicious activity to the Police.
The RCMP's interest in this matter is now closed.
