Lethbridge New Home Starts Continue To Out-Pace Last Year's Numbers
LETHBRIDGE: New home starts in Lethbridge last month were on par with the single month
numbers from May of 2012. However, year-to-date, new home starts are running
well ahead of last year.
There were 55 new home starts in Lethbridge in May (the number includes
single detached a multi-unit housing). That number compares with 54 starts in
May of 2012
While single family home starts remain fairly steady for the year-to-date
tally (189 so far this year compared to 193 in 2012) there has been a 45-unit jump in Multiple home starts, which includes apartments,
condos and duplexes. That resulted in a 17% increase in overall new home construction.
For the first five months of the year, Lethbridge recorded a total of 246 new
home starts, compared to 205 during the same period last year.
