Lethbridge Grand Slam Baseball Festival Begins Next Week

LETHBRIDGE: The first annual Lethbridge Grand Slam Baseball Festival is set to run from June 20th to the 23rd.

The event will highlight the history of the game in our city, give you a chance to try your skills on the diamond, and even feature three baseball movies on the video scoreboard at Spitz Stadium.

The festival begins on the Thursday evening at City Hall with the "Opening Pitch Gala Reception". They'll recognize local players, both young and old, along with the Prairie Baseball Academy Dawgs who are coming off a national championship, and the Lethbridge Bulls who will be named as Ambassadors of the city by Mayor Rajko Dodic.

Following that they'll have Fan Fest at Spitz Stadium, which will include things like tours of the facility, contests and a chance to try everything from pitching and batting to running the bases. That will be followed by a slow pitch game involving city council, city staff and the Lethbridge Bulls.

Saturday and Sunday morning they'll host pancake breakfasts from 8:00 to 10:00-am at Spitz.

In addition to Lethbridge Bulls games Friday and Saturday night and again Sunday afternoon, you can also catch movies on the video scoreboard at the park Thursday, Friday and Saturday night at 10:30.
