LETHBRIDGE:  A two vehicle collision south of the city Thursday afternoon claimed the lives of two people.

The incident happened just before 2:00 on Highway-5, at the north end of Welling. A north-bound car with three-occupants crossed the center line and collided head-on with a south-bound SUV, which had two-occupants.

Two passengers in the car, Morris and Mary-Ann Walker of Raymond, died from their injuries. The couple's daughter, and driver of the car, Diana Trimble, was taken to the Regional hospital with undetermined injuries.

The driver of the SUV, Brandi-Lynn Delaney suffered serious injuries and her passenger, Avery Delaney is also in hospital with undetermined injuries.

Highway-5 was closed to traffic for about three hours. Alcohol is not a factor but the collision is still under investigation.
