Early Morning Downtown Assault Sends Woman To Hospital

 
 

LETHBRIDGE:  A city woman suffered serious but non life-threatening injuries as the result of an assault in a down-town park early Wednesday morning.

 

Between 12:30 and 1:30, the woman was walking through Green Acres Park in the 700 block of 4 Street South when she was approached by a group of young people and assaulted.

 

The victim was repeatedly punched and kicked and sustained a puncture wound from a broken bottle. She was able to walk home, where she called police and was taken to hospital.

 

Regional Police continue to investigation.
