LETHBRIDGE - Inspector Colin Catonio has been promoted to Deputy Chief of the Regional Police Service.

As Deputy he will assist the Chief in the day-to-day operations of the Service and will oversee the Professional Standards Unit, Policy and Accreditation Unit, the Business Management Section and Victim Services.

Catonio has spent 33 years with the service. He joined the Regional Police in 1980 after graduating from the Law Enforcement program at Lethbridge College.

The intent of implementing a Deputy position is to achieve a greater balance between the daily operations of the Police Service and community engagement activities.
