LETHBRIDGE: ALERT’s Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit (CFSEU-Lethbridge)
have charged two Edmonton women after seizing over 200 grams of crack cocaine as
part of a drug trafficking investigation.
CFSEU-Lethbridge is an integrated team of Lethbridge Regional Police
Service (LRPS) members and RCMP who work together to address organized crime in
the community. CFSEU-Lethbridge teamed up with LRPS Community Policing Division
on June 27th, when they conducted a vehicle stop on a rental car in the area of
1800 block of 13 Street North. There, police arrested two women and seized 85.5
grams of crack cocaine, four cell phones, and $1,715 cash.
Again with assistance from LRPS Community Policing Division,
CFSEU-Lethbridge executed a search warrant at a residence in the 300 block of
Canyon Boulevard West on June 28th. The team seized 145.7 grams of crack
cocaine, $21,660 cash, and drug trafficking paraphernalia.
The total estimated street value of the crack cocaine is $23,000.
As a result, 25-year-old Majorie DER and 21-year-old Mala PEN are each
charged with two counts of possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking
and two counts of possession of proceeds of crime. Both women are Edmonton
DER and PEN make their first court appearances on June 28 in
