LETHBRIDGE - The first one cylinder tractor rally ever in Canada will take place in
Lethbridge on Friday evening.
People with antique one cylinder tractors
will parade through the City starting at 6pm. They will travel along South
Parkside Drive, crossing Mayor Magrath and up 13th Street. The tractors will
make a stop at the City Hall parking lot between 7 and 8 for people to come take
a look. The rally will then travel east on 3rd Avenue to Mayor Magrath where
they will head north to 2nd Avenue, over to 43rd Street and back to Jail
Organizer Paul De Jonge says one cylinder tractors are not that common.
They're mostly European tractors, 2 stroke-diesels, with a great sound.
On Saturday between 10am and 3pm, the tractors will be put through some
exercises at the Broxburn Vegetables farm where they will be on display. The
Lions Club will also be offering a fundraising lunch for a good cause.
