Information Needed On Two North-Side Street Robberies

LETHBRIDGE:   Regional Police are asking members of the public to come forward with any information they may have on a pair of early morning street robberies.

About 1:17 Friday morning, a 37-year-old man was walking near the 500-block of 5th Avenue north, when he was approached by two unknown men. The two suspects began yelling at the victim and then one struck him in the face multiple times. Two women then stole a bag the victim had set down on the ground which contained two passports, medication, cash, a wallet and keys. The victim sustained minor injuries and did not require medical attention.

The man who assaulted the victim is described as Aboriginal, mid 20s, about five-feet-nine inches tall with buzz cut hair. He was wearing a blue/turquois shirt. No description was provided for the second male.

The two women were both Aboriginal. One was about six feet tall and wearing shorts. The second woman was heavy set, shorter, and wearing a white shirt.

The second incident happened around 1:50-am in the 300-block of 13th street north.

Tow men, aged 47 and 28, were walking in the area when they were confronted by four unknown males. The younger victim ran from the area and the older victim was knocked to the ground and repeatedly kicked. The second victim also had his medication and a quantity of cash stolen. He was taken to hospital and treated for a broken arm and cuts.

The suspects are described as Aboriginal in their early 20s.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
