LETHBRIDGE: The Lethbridge and District Association of
Realtors is happy with the numbers they're seeing halfway through 2013.
So far there have been 1,229 transactions in and around Lethbridge, which is
on par with the 1,238 through the first half of last year.
Association President John Bekkering went over his feelings on the numbers
while speaking with Country 95, "We always like to see them higher but I think
we should be content, we have a very strong, good market. The positive side of
our numbers is that our inventory is down about 7-per cent for the year compared
to last year, which is great...more balanced market."
Bekkering also addressed the direction he expects the market to take later
this year, "I really believe that we're going to have a good market this year.
Interest rates are still down, we've got a healthy economy, we're growing, we've
got over 90,000 people in the city and we're excited. It's a good place to do
Bekkering noted that the average sale price for a home in Lethbridge was
between $260,000 and $270,000. He also pointed out that 80-per cent of home
sales in Lethbridge were for under $400,000.
