LETHBRIDGE - Galko Homes and Ashcroft Homes will be involved in creating the first houses
to be sold as part of "The College Home" project.
collaborative partnership between the Canadian Home Builders Association Lethbridge Region and
Lethbridge College was announced back in February.
Builders will put
up two homes a year over the next five years, with proceeds from the home sales
going towards the Trades and Technology Renewal and Innovation project at
The College will also be donating a $2,500 tuition credit to the home buyer
for each of the 10 homes.
College President Paula Burns says the partnership "shows that whole
progression from students becoming trades people to being the people who are
actually working on the homes to those Master tradesman who've been part of the
community for a long time and who are contributing back and seeing the need to
not only contribute to our new Trades and Technology Renewal and Innovation
project but also to the program itself and supporting students going
Both homes are expected to be unveiled this year at the Parade of Homes in
Lethbridge from September 21 to October 6th.
