Empress Theatre Offering Youth Summer Drama Camps

LETHBRIDGE - Youth summer drama camps kick off at the Empress Theatre in Fort Macleod this week and continue through the summer.

There are six camps being offered over five weeks including puppetry and musical theatre and they're geared to kids between 6 and 18 years old.

Summer Program Coordinator Erin Bourke-Henderson feels there are several benefits to kids taking part in these camps. She says they help children with "confidence building, self-esteem, speaking on stage, and being comfortable around your peers. It's a good alternative for kids who aren't into sports and into the regular summer things like overnight camps or outdoor sports or swimming."

To register or to get more information contact the Empress Theatre office at 403-553-4404 or visit their website at http://empresstheatre.ab.ca/
