LETHBRIDGE: A 37-year old city man city has been charged with fraud.
investigation by the Regional Police Economic Crimes Unit determined that
between June 6th and June 10th of this year, a man used numerous cheques to
purchase more than $5,600 worth of grocery items, cigarettes and electronics
from a local store. When the business deposited the cheques they were returned
On July 9th, the man went to another store and filled a shopping cart with
groceries, and then tried to return the items. However, he left the store when
staff refused to return the items without a receipt.
Goodwin, is charged with fraud over $5,000 and attempted false pretense. He is
scheduled to make his first court appearance on July 17th.
