Father Charged With Failing To Provide The Necessities Of Life

LETHBRIDGE - A 39-year-old Lethbridge man is facing a charge of failing to provide the necessities of life.

On Saturday, police were called to the 300 block of Bluefox Boulevard just after 10:45 am because a man was passed out across the sidewalk and a baby stroller was in the roadway.

Before police got there, a passerby moved the stroller to safety and secured the 3 year old girl who was inside.

The man displayed signs of intoxication and was arrested. The girl was unharmed and was taken by Children's Services. She is the daughter of the accused.

The man, who can't be named to protect the identity of the child, is scheduled to appear in court on August 14th.
