LETHBRIDGE - The Lethbridge Twinning Society hosted four people from our
twin city, Towada City, Japan from July 24th-28th.
The small delegation was taken to Lethbridge College, the U of L, tourism
destinations such as Waterton and key areas in the City. They were here to
establish on-going English as a second language training in Lethbridge as well
as import and export opportunities between the two cities.
"They brought a lot of products from Towada that comes in. One of the
products that they have is a very unique BBQ sauce and it actually won
international acclaim. They also have a number of agricultural items, machinery
and such. They're also looking at agricultural items from Lethbridge and our
community that manufactures here, for their farms." said President of the
Twinning Society, Harold Pereverseff.
Pereverseff says it took 10 years of casual friendships and delegation visits
to reach this opportunity.
