COALHURST: The first candidate for the Coalhurst Mayoralty race in the October Civic
election has come forward.
After eight years of experience as Councilor in Coalhurst, Ron Lagemaat has
decided it is time to run for Mayor.
In a released statement, Lagemaat lays out his platform, "We need to see
plans for moving forward in our town. Our recent growth potential has stalled in
this last term because people aren't seeing the promised progression. We need a
strong approach to managing issues such as a safe highway access into Lethbridge
and business development.
Lagemaat goes on to state, "We all like to see a more sustainable and
enjoyable community in Coalhurst, but frankly, without building the basic tax
structure we will continue with more of the same disappointment, year after
