Lethbridge Airport Gets Federal Funding For New Snowplow Truck
LETHBRIDGE - The federal government is providing almost 188-thousand dollars for a new
slowplow truck at Lethbridge Airport.
It will replace the old 1980 model
they have now which is nearing the end of it's life.
The funding comes through the Airports Capital Assistance Program. Through
ACAP, the airport has received more than $8.8-million for 9-projects, including
today's announcement . Earlier this year, the airport got funding to replace the
runway condition reporting system and a snow blower.
County Reeve Lorne
Hickey hopes this investment will help attract new airlines to Lethbridge. He
says discussions with WestJet are ongoing and they expect their next
announcement will probably be towards the end of January.
