LETHBRIDGE: The University of Lethbridge has already registered an increase in first year
student registration for this fall.
The U-of-L will begin their 47th academic year with about 11% percent more
first year students.
To date, over 1100 students just out of high school will start classes in
September. Those students come not only from Alberta but, from across the
country and around the world.
Registrations from students living in Calgary are up nearly 35% over this
time last year.
In a release from the U-of-L, Vice-President Academic, Dr. Andy Hakin states,
"We are very pleased to see increases in our high school student enrollments, as
it reflects the great work our recruitment team has done over the past year to
encourage students to choose the U of L, and Lethbridge, for their
post-secondary education experience."
In total, the U-of-L expects approximately 8300 students this coming
These numbers could still increase with three weeks of registration left
before fall classes begin.
