First Phase Of West Lethbridge Public Operations Depot Underway

LETHBRIDGE - A contractor has been hired to build a snow storage facility and diesel refueling station in west Lethbridge on University Drive.

City Council awarded the two million dollar project to the low bidder G.W Cox Construction of Lethbridge.

The existing snow dump site at 7th Avenue and 43rd Street South doesn't have the capacity to handle snow from west Lethbridge and this new location will decrease snow removal operating costs. As well, the refueling station is needed for the city fleet and is a high priority for the Fire department.

Weather permitting, the project should be complete by mid November.
