LETHBRIDGE: The list of candidates preparing to enter the contest for one of the eight
City Councillor seats continues to grow and is now into double digits.
One of the candidates who signaled their intention earlier this week was
Robert "Joey" Shackleford.
Shackleford is a long-time high school teacher, coach and community volunteer
who says he believes Council needs to balance the best interests of the city
with that of the taxpayer.
Among Shackleford's priorities are advocacy for small business, social
housing initiatives and maintaining strong police, fire and EMS services.
The Civic Election is set for October 21st and all candidates wanting to seek
a position on Council must have their nomination papers filed by September 23rd.
