Alberta West Nile Cases Spike From Two to Ten In Less Than Three Weeks
LETHBRIDGE: Alberta's first two cases of West Nile virus were confirmed on August 28th and there were ten reported cases as of September 13th.
All the West Nile cases have been reported in Southern Alberta, although exact
locations are not given.
One of the cases has been confirmed in a boy under the
age of nine, while the other nine cases are in adults between the ages of 30 and
79. One of the cases involves the more serious West Nile Neurological Syndrome.
