Former Global News Director Enters City Council Race

LETHBRIDGE - After 32 years in news media, Peter Deys has decided to run for Lethbridge City Council.

He feels uniquely qualified for a Council position because of his business background. As a news reporter, Deys has seen how city councils operate and is used to asking tough questions. As well, he has experience managing people and finances during his time as a News Director and Station Manager at Global Lethbridge.

Deys says "I have no agenda in applying for the position, but I welcome hearing from you as to what's working well and what isn't. I look forward to the debate on fluoride, as well as a ward system for the next municipal election. I want to ensure that the City is in good shape financially. Like most everyone, I would like to see our tax and utility rates go down, but I realize that cannot be accomplished without making cuts somewhere."
