Mayoral Candidate Wants To Focus On Transit Issues

LETHBRIDGE - With four mayoral candidates, only one was a surprise on nomination day.

Curtis Simpson came forward on Monday morning to file the paperwork to run for Mayor.

He has 25 years experience working with not for profit organizations and has worked with the Lethbridge Pride Fest and Lethbridge HIV connection.

A hot topic for him in this election campaign is transit. Simpson says "I really think that it needs a little bit of a revamp. I think that we need to get better service, better access. Lethbridge is growing, we're going to face some congestion problems and right now most people don't look at our transit system as an alternative unless they absolutely have to, so we really need to look at that and change that."

Simpson will face off against Faron Ellis, Bridget Mearns, and Chris Spearman for the top job.
