Semi Roll-Over Results In Charge Against B.C. Driver

A 33-year old semi driver from Coquitlam, B.C. has been charged with careless driving, after a
roll-over early Friday morning shut down a city off-ramp for several
The incident happened at 5:00. An investigation determined the driver was
north-bound on Mayor Magrath Drive south and tried to exit onto west bound
Highway-3. The driver unsuccessfully negotiated the west-bound ramp and the
trailer load shifted to the right as the vehicle continued to make its left
turn. The semi then rolled, with the the passenger side coming to rest on the
cement guard rail.
The vehicle sustained extensive damage and was leaking engine fluids. The
trailer was carrying approximately 52,000 lbs of plate-glass; most of which was
broken in the crash.
The driver was not injured.
